Our Jobs Our Communities Our Future Standing Up For As we continue to experience incredible job loss - most notably in the manufacturing sector - in this country, our communities are only just starting to experience the impacts. Our economic survival and the social fibre of our Country are under tremendous pressure, and we must come together as a community and work for change now if we are to ensure a bright future for this region and our children. Public Meeting Set for July 31 On July 31, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. the Our Jobs, Our Communities, Our Future Coalition will host a panel discussion on the impact of the job losses in our community, entitled " Windsor At the Crossroads" This is a follow up event to the May 27th rally. Workers, and their families, in our community have been affected by the job losses and this is an opportunity for them to tell their personal stories to the entire community. The public is invited to attend this important meeting, and hear directly from those who have lost their jobs about the broad ranging impacts this has had in their lives. Free parking is available, and refreshments will be provided. Tuesday, July 31 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM Gino Marcus Centre Download a printable (PDF) version of the flyer to post around town here. May 27 Community Rally an Overwhelming Success
Citizens turned out in large numbers at all three marshalling locations, and a crowd estimated by various sources to be somewhere between 30,000 and 40,000 people marched to and rallied at the Ford Test Track Park. Community participation overwhelmed the event organizers!
