About Us

We are a broad nonpartisan coalition of concerned citizens, workers (employed / unemployed / underemployed), professionals, business owners, politicians and community leaders. We are concerned about the incredible job loss being experienced in this region and our nation as a whole – especially within the manufacturing sector.

We are coming together to call attention to the needs of Canadians, and to raise our voices in unison to demand the public policy changes needed to ensure the longterm survival of the very fabric of our communities!

We want our nation's leaders to know what our real needs are. And we want business and investors to realize the true values of our region, and the many benefits our diverse multi-skilled workforce has to offer.

These are OUR JOBS!

These are OUR COMMUNITIES!

And we DEMAND a FUTURE!!

Our Children Deserve NO LESS!!!

We Are Standing up For
Canada's Manufacturing Sector!

The Steering Committee

The "Our Jobs - Our Communities - Our Future" Coalition have welcomed the participation of more than 100 individuals and organizations from within the Windsor-Essex region. The steering committee that planned the "Rally for Wondsor-Essex" held on May 27 will continue to work together, building our plan of action as we move forward.

Groups who have taken an active role in ensuring the success of this event include, but are not limited to the; AEFO, ATU, Blues Fest Committee, CAW, CMG, CUPE, ETFO, Hallmark workers, Labourers, National Farmers Union, OECTA (Secondary & Elementary), OSSTF, PSAC, Unemployed Help Center, United Way, Windsor & District Labor Council, Windsor Peace Coalition, Windsor Taxi Charities, WUFA, local politicians, university students and concerned citizens.

Interest in joining, supporting, working with and contributing to our campaign continues to grow. We welcome the participation of all!

Our Goal

The goal of this action is to raise awareness around the incredible manufacturing job loss we are experiencing throughout Windsor/Essex County (and our nation at large) – both through direct losses and, possibly even more importantly, all of the spin-off effects (not only in jobs but also in community services and to community service organizations, the arts community, education and health care sectors, etc.).

We hope to build a strong and united voice within our communities, demanding the changes needed to Canada's public policy. And we need YOU to join us!

We will continue to raise our issues and we hope to put forth our collective ideas and make clear some of the change that is required from ALL levels of government. It is time our elected leaders take a stand for good paying Canadian jobs and the basic fabrics of our communities.

Canadians, and the world, need fair trade practices – and we need them now!!!

The rally campaign office has been closed, and the associated phone line has been disconnected. Thank-you to those who took the time to stop by the office. It was nice to meet some of our supporters in person. Maybe we will open another store-front at another time during the campaign? Stay tuned.
